Joe earned his BBA in Accounting from St. Mary’s University in 1973
He earned his CPA certification in 1974

Joe also holds NASD Securities Licenses Series 6 and 7 as well as Texas Insurance License.
Joe started his accounting career with Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) where he spent five years for the most part auditing companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange. He then joined Carneiro Chumney where he was admitted as a partner. In 1981 he formed his own CPA firm concentrating on family-owned businesses and individual taxation.
Joe is a member of the AICPA and TXCPA and for many years was an instructor with the Becker CPA review Course and conducted Small Business Workshops in conjunction with UTSA.
